Poor, slow Kisaragi.
She didn't think to check the cage first.

[She freezes the moment she reads that message. It's only a matter of moments until she's running toward the cage, however, where Shiro is very much safe and sound. She can only stare down at the rabbit in disbelief at first, doesn't even think to grab her tablet again until she's slumped down next to it.]

KANO THAT WASN'T FUNNY! you said he was missing!!!

[This time, Momo doesn't get a text. All she gets is a quiet sound, like someone coughing. Then, steadily, it grows louder, until it's clear that it's Kano's voice.

More precisely, it's Kano's laughter.

He's laughing at her through the tablet.]

[She drops down to the floor, tablet clutched tightly in her hands. What... But... Why? Why is he laughing at her? Is the idea of Shiro having gone missing really so funny to him? Did he even go missing in the first place? Or...

Kano lies sometimes. Momo knows that. This wouldn't even be the first time he's lied to her. But would he really lie to her about something like this? This is her brother's bet, not something to just play around with! Why would he...

She quickly switches to audio and, though she tries to stop it, her voice trembles just slightly when she speaks.]

S-stop laughing! What are you doing? Stop it! It's not funny!

[But the laughing keeps going on and on, like Kano's hearing some sort of hilarious joke instead of an entreaty to stop. It keeps going until it becomes quiet wheezing, at which point the audio switches off. Momo's left with dead silence.

Somewhere, outside the room, a door slams open and shut.]

[Momo can only stare at her tablet when the feeds cuts off, still disbelieving.

What... Did that really just happen? Did Kano just laugh at her and leave? Over something like this? She can't understand it at all. She can't even begin to understand it.

It isn't until several minutes pass that she finally moves away from Shiro, finally stands again, and goes straight to her room.]
